Band 7 – Outpatient Physiotherapist – Amputees and MSK

Are you interested in both amputee rehabilitation and musculoskeletal outpatients? We are looking for an outstanding Senior Physiotherapist with a passion for improving patient outcomes at the West Hertfordshire Therapy Unit, Jacketts Field Site, Abbots Langley.
Main duties of the job
* Lead service development projects and audits to enhance care and ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
* Provide clinical supervision, appraisal and teaching.
* Demonstrate sufficient working experience within NHS to assume a Band 7 role.
* Deliver pre‑ and post‑prosthetic amputee rehabilitation and musculoskeletal outpatient care, including trauma and elective orthopaedic referrals.
Job responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality physiotherapy to amputee and MSK patients, ensuring evidence‑based, patient‑centred care.
* Apply and audit local and national guidelines, HMPC Reporting, and relevant NHS standards.
* Supervise, mentor and evaluate junior staff and student placements.
* Actively participate in service improvement and quality initiatives.
* Engage with multidisciplinary team as required for patient management.
Person Specification
Education and qualifications
* Physiotherapy degree qualification.
* Full HCPC registration.
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or equivalent.
* Evidence of continuous professional development expanded skills in the advertised specialisation.
* Attained or working toward a post‑graduate degree or qualification.
* Evidence of leadership courses or training.
Knowledge
* Understanding of NHS and social care organisational structure.
* Ability to provide professional and clinical leadership in specialism.
* Understanding of relevant clinical guidelines, policies and procedures.
* Experience with service development, QI projects and audits.
* Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for the service.
* Member of specialist interest groups, e.g., BACPAR.
Experience
* Band 6/7 (senior) experience in the NHS.
* Attendance at relevant post‑graduate courses.
* Attendance at a Clinical Educators course.
* Leadership experience in service development and QI initiatives.
