We are looking for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Environmental Health Officers/Environmental Health graduate or Technical Officer to join our busy and friendly Food, Health and Housing Team.
The successful candidates will primarily be focussed on Occupational Health and Safety.
We are also keen to attract candidates with experience in animal activity licensing and registration / licensing of beauty treatment activities. You will be required to carry out a wide range of environmental health and licensing functions, including visits, inspections, proactive initiatives and complaint investigations.
For this role we are looking for a candidate with specific occupational health and safety and ideally experience of beauty and animal welfare licensing and registration.

We welcome applications from registered Environmental Health Officers / Chartered members / graduates with a degree in Environmental Health who are able to work towards gaining CIEH registration and Chartered Status.
We would also encourage applications from existing Technical Officers with suitable experience. The successful applicant will be given opportunity to develop and apply a wide range of environmental health related skills as required for the position.

This post is defined as “career-graded”. This means that entry into the pay scale, and progression through it will be related to qualification and work experience as follows:
• Possession of a degree or diploma in Environmental Health OR with full relevant work experience will mean appointment at or progression to pay Band 8.
• Full membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and registration by The Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB)/CIEH Register or Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner Status will allow appointment at or progression to pay Band 9.
