SEMH Teaching Assistant - Tower Hamlets Primary School (Near Bow Station)

Salary: £90-£105 per day (depending on experience)
A supportive and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets, just a short walk from Bow Station, is seeking a confident and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. This is a vital role supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Work closely with individual students or small groups with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
* Support classroom engagement and behaviour regulation strategies
* Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage resilience and positive learning behaviours
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to deliver targeted interventions
* Help create a calm, consistent and structured environment for learning
Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant profile:
* Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, behaviour, or additional needs
* Strong communication and de-escalation skills
* Patient, empathetic and consistent approach
* Understanding of safeguarding and child development
* DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
