Fixed term contract requirement for a Data Analyst with a background in Microsoft Technology, Data and BI. The ideal candidate will have worked with either Fabric, Snowflake or Databrick. This role is a Fixed Term contract for 12/18 months and you will have a Hybrid working pattern of 3 days onsite per week.
Data Analyst Requirements
* Facilitate the identification and validation of business intelligence and reporting requirements.
* Lead discovery workshops to gather cross-functional reporting and analytics needs.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements in the context of ERP and data platform initiatives.
* Evaluate and document current reporting processes, data sources, and existing toolsets.
* Assess whether reporting requirements can be fulfilled within the ERP system or if complementary data platform solutions are necessary.
* Identify reporting gaps, redundancies, and opportunities to enhance data usage and insights.
* Convert business needs into well-defined functional and non-functional requirements.
* Contribute to the evaluation, selection, and configuration of reporting and visualisation tools, particularly Microsoft Fabric.
* Work alongside internal and external technical teams to ensure proposed solutions align with business goals.
* Deliver thorough analysis and documentation to support solution design and implementation.
* Assist in testing and validation efforts, including the creation of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts.
* Support a smooth transition of reporting capabilities into Business-As-Usual operations.
* Conduct change impact assessments and maintain stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure traceability of requirements from inception through to delivery.
* Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies related to reporting and data workstreams.
* Contribute to defining data governance and quality frameworks during the discovery phase.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in eliciting and analysing complex reporting and business intelligence requirements.
* Skilled in techniques such as Process Mapping, Data Flow Diagrams, and User Story development.
* Strong communication and facilitation abilities, with confidence working across technical and non-technical audiences.
* Comfortable working independently and navigating ambiguity during early project phases.
* Methodical and structured approach to documentation and validation of requirements.
* Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to connect technical outcomes to business value.
Qualifications and Knowledge
* BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent professional experience.
* Familiarity with Agile and/or Prince2 project management methodologies.
* In-depth understanding of business analysis principles, especially within data and reporting domains.
* Experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SSRS).
* Knowledge of ERP systems and data integration processes is advantageous.
