Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Sports Coach. Start Date: Autumn term 2025. Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience. Contract Type: Full-time.
The Role: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / SEND Sports Coach to join our team this Autumn term. This dual-role position combines classroom-based support and small group work with the delivery of inclusive sports and physical activity sessions. The successful candidate will support student progress academically and through structured physical education.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the planning and delivery of high-quality lessons and sport sessions.
* Deliver small-group or 1:1 academic and pastoral interventions.
* Foster positive relationships with students, promoting inclusion and engagement.
* Assist in the assessment, recording, and reporting of student progress.
* Provide tailored support to students with SEND, SEMH and complex needs.
* Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and behaviour management.
Essential Requirements
* HLTA status or equivalent teaching assistant qualification/experience.
* A recognised qualification in sport or physical education.
* Experience supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH.
* Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
* An enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
* Subject to satisfactory safeguarding and reference checks.
