As a CGI Technical Industrial Placement, you’ll be trusted with responsibility from the start. Whether you’re developing full-stack applications, engineering data pipelines, designing cloud infrastructures, or analysing data for insights, your work will contribute directly to impactful projects across multiple industries. Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and test technical solutions for live projects across sectors such as Government, Space, Defence, Intelligence, Justice, and Energy Transformation.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex real-world challenges.
* Explore and apply emerging technologies in areas such as AI, cloud, data analytics, and IoT.
* Innovate alongside other industrial placements, taking part in early careers initiatives that go beyond your day-to-day role.
Locations: Technical Industrial Placement roles are available in London, Leatherhead, Chippenham, Reading, Bristol, Birmingham. As CGI is a consultancy, you may be required to work in different locations, so flexibility and a willingness to travel are key.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
We’re seeking ambitious Industrial Placements who are passionate about technology and eager to apply their skills to projects that make a real difference. You’ll bring a strong academic background in STEM, curiosity to explore new ideas, and flexibility to take on diverse projects across the UK.
* On track for a minimum 2:2 degree in computer science, engineering, physics, maths, or a related STEM field (some roles may require a 2:1).
* Passion for technology and innovation, with a problem-solving mindset.
* Flexibility to travel and work on projects across the UK.
* Eligibility for Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, with many roles requiring higher National Security Vetting (typically 5–10 years of continuous UK residency).
Technical Skills We Value
* Programming Languages: Proficiency in one or more of C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
* Systems & Tools: Linux/Unix, version control (Git), and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Cloud Technologies: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
* Software Development Practices: Agile and DevOps methodologies.
* Networking & Cybersecurity: Networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity principles.
* Data & Analytics: SQL, NoSQL, analytics tools; interest in ML/AI is a plus.
