There is an exciting opportunity to join our Libraries team as a Library Duty Manager. This is a full-time temporary position, managing Seaham Library and 2 community branches at Murton and Easington Colliery.

You will manage day to day operation of assigned library venues ensuring a high-quality service, that is safe, efficient, and enjoyed by users. As a Library Duty Manager, you will act as an advocate for the library service proactively encouraging and supporting customers to enjoy a positive experience.

37 hours per week, 12 month temporary contract.

Timetable week 1:

Monday: 8.30am-7.15pm

Tuesday: 8.30am-5.15pm.

Wednesday: 9.15am-12.45pm.

Thursday: 8.30am-7.15pm

Friday: 9.00am-5.15pm

Timetable week 2:

Monday: 8.30am-7.15pm

Tuesday: 8.30am-5.15pm.

Thursday: 8.30am-7.15pm

Friday: 9.00am-5.15pm

Saturday: 9.15am-12.45pm

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

Some of the duties of this role include, but arent limited to:

* Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational supervision of the assigned libraries managing the safety of both customers and staff.
* Ensure that the assigned libraries are clean, maintained and well presented to a high standard.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of services and programmes of activity within assigned venues.
* Work with and supervise volunteers, placements and work experience students as required.
* Assist in promotional work and audience development activities as required including, but not limited to: customer surveys, data gathering, merchandising, distribution of marketing content.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You will need a NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline and a First Aid qualification or willingness to work towards Please refer to the attached Person Specification for the full criteria.

INTERVIEWS

Interviews will be held week commencing 20th October.

HYBRID WORKING (if applicable)

Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
