Job Summary
The successful candidate will be reporting to the General Manager of the Hotel. The role involves working over several departments in the Hotel. They will strive to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximise the financial performance of the company. As a Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the premises while providing exceptional guest services. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
Hours
Flexible hours during the Hotel's operational times working 5 nights a week from the hours of 11.00pm to 7.00am or as otherwise informed.
Skills
Impeccable service standards and customer care skills.
A good understanding of Food and Beverage provision including mise en place and service standards
Computer literate and have previous knowledge of using EPOS hardware and software.
Knowledge of 'Rezlynx' software is beneficial but training will be given.
Ability to carry out any task when given appropriate training.
Ability to work alone.
Great eye for recognising any potential security breaches.
Core Work Activities
* Preparation and service of food and drink for late bars and room service orders.
* Set up and set down of conferences, restaurant and wedding layouts as required.
* Cleaning of public areas in preparation for the forthcoming shifts.
* Clear down and closure of bar service areas.
* Check in and Check out of Guests of any late guests or early arrivals, including taking payments.
* Telephone answering and enquiries.
* Provide services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention
* Improve service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback and individual coaching when needed.
* Maintain the hotel safety and security procedures - Carry out security checks throughout the night
* Prepare and service of food and drink for late bars and room service orders.
* Demonstrate knowledge of hotel's facilities - deal with customer enquiries and questions.
Duties
* Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with their luggage as needed.
* Maintain cleanliness in all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, and restrooms.
* Ensure that the exterior of the property is tidy and free from litter, including managing outdoor seating areas.
* Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
* Assist with setting up and breaking down events as required.
* Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operations.
* Provide information about local attractions, services, and hotel amenities to enhance the guest experience.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
* Strong communication skills; multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly advantageous.
* Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional guest services.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
