The national campaign is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. and U.K. foreign policy.

With 20 years of experience in the advocacy space, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills benefiting close to 500 million people in developing countries.
Nonprofit Leadership Programme
This role offers insight into the key skills required to lead and develop a nonprofit organization. It is a part-time, 12-hours-per-week, 12-week unpaid remote programme. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the programme in fewer weeks.
Programme Components:
1. Advocacy Leadership Development: Meet with government members in your district; represent The Borgen Project at various events; mobilize individuals to contact their representatives in support of poverty-reduction legislation.
2. Fundraising Development: Learn how to fundraise, create a personal campaign, and meet targets.
3. Recruitment: Update job postings, inform groups about openings, learn recruitment platforms, and participate in interviews.
4. Marketing and Promotion: Pitch story ideas to media, utilize social media, and develop web messaging strategies.
Experience: No prior experience necessary. We seek passionate individuals eager to fight poverty and advocate for change, regardless of background or GPA.
Details: This is an unpaid internship; college credit may be available.
Start Date: New programmes start every month; you may choose your preferred start month.
