Job summary

The post-holder will lead the strategic and operational development of integrated care across the Health and Justice portfolio, working closely with the Director of Operations and Head of Health and Justice. They will design and deliver integrated care teams aligned to national networks, ensuring effective partner engagement. The role involves implementing evolving national models of care, contributing to system-wide developments, and attending key programme and national meetings. They will provide specialist clinical advice to the Leadership Team, influencing diagnosis, care, and service development. This includes interpreting national policy, shaping care group strategies, and offering guidance where policy is limited. As a member of the Care Group Leadership Team, the post-holder will contribute to the delivery and development of services across the group and represent it in various forums. Working collaboratively with leadership teams, they will ensure services are safe, effective, and aligned with the NHS Long Term Plan, national targets, and evidence-based practice. A proactive and visible leadership approach is essential, promoting organisational values. The post-holder must be a practicing clinician or possess significant clinical expertise, providing supervision and support to relevant clinical services.


Main duties of the job

Responsible for leading the strategic and operational development of the integrated care agenda across the service portfolio and in conjunction with the Head of Health and Justice, for the design, planning and delivery of integrated offender health teams aligned to the national footprint of services.

* Supporting and advising to ensure robust governance systems and processes are established, including the proactive management of clinical risk and learning from good practice. Working with the others on implementation of the Quality Strategy across the service and care group.
* Advising on clinical standards, clinical safety and service quality within relevant service areas. Where required representing the Care Group at the Trust Quality Governance Committee or the Trust at Contract Quality Review meetings regarding specific items for discussion as relevant to clinical expertise.
* Keeping abreast of developments within area of clinical expertise, translating national developments, NICE guidance and evidence based practice for implementation across the care group.
* Shaping the development of the Care Group Business Plan and associated Workforce Plan. Contributing to education, development and training strategies and programmes in relevant areas of expertise.

* Service Area/Portfolio duties and responsibilities: Leading the strategic and operational development of the integrated care agenda across the service portfolio and with the Head of Health and Justice, for the design, planning and delivery of integrated offender health teams aligned to the national footprint of services.
* Lead on behalf of the service with engagement across the national footprint.
* Responsible with the Head of Service for the implementation of models of care as they develop across the systems, contributing to significant system developments, including attendance at relevant national programme meetings. Work in partnership with a range of partners to provide integrated, holistic services that achieve the best outcomes for the people we serve.
* Line Management of Clinical Lead, responsible for recruitment, performance management, appraisal and supervision.

* Relevant professional qualification e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, AHP
* Professional Registration


Experience

* Significant demonstrable experience in appropriate clinical area e.g. health and justice, forensic services or similar
