Home Instead Mid Cornwall provide the highest quality, relationship led care for older people in their own homes in Wadebridge, Padstow and Rock. We support clients with their social and emotional needs rather than just focussing on tasks, helping them enjoy their lives in their own homes where they wish to be.
All our visits are at least an hour. We always introduce caregivers to new clients and invest heavily in training and development. Our office team provide excellent support for the caregivers allowing them to provide the very best care they can. We pay travel and waiting time and mileage at 45p a mile. Holiday pay is one hour for every 8 worked and we have a Nest pension scheme.
Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in Wadebridge, United Kingdom. As a Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by providing personalized care and support in their homes.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and medication management
* Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
* Prepare nutritious meals and help with light housekeeping tasks
* Accompany clients to appointments, shopping trips, or social outings
* Monitor and report changes in clients' health or behavior to supervisors
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and client progress
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care
* Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge
* Adhere to all safety protocols and organizational policies
* Respond promptly to client needs and emergencies as they arise
Qualifications
* Passion for supporting and caring for others
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional relationships
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Reliability, trustworthiness, and respect for client privacy
* Physical stamina to assist with mobility and daily living activities
* Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with clients
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Willingness to learn and adapt to clients' individual needs
* Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation (preferred)
* Prior experience in caregiving or healthcare (beneficial but not required)
