Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented contract Senior Technical Project Manager to join our client’s team, responsible for full lifecycle projects within their transformation programme to become a Managed Service Provider. A key project will be to manage the transition, sunsetting and replacement of a bespoke legacy technology platform that currently supports a number of critical operational functions across MDM (Master Data Management), User Management, Application Data Store and Service Order & Subscription Management.
The project will be responsible for alignment with the client’s Target Operating Model and Enterprise Architecture and transitioning of functions to other projects, sunsetting of discontinued functions and the replacement of the legacy bespoke technology platform for continuing functions, through the evaluation and implementation of an industry standard and best of breed technology platform to support Service Order & Subscription Management.
You will oversee the feasibility analysis, requirements gathering, planning, implementation, and tracking of multiple project workstreams. You will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure that the project is completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Your leadership skills and operational and technical mindset will be essential in driving project success and fostering a collaborative environment that aligns efforts across the project workstreams and interdependent projects as part of the wider transformation programme.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the planning and execution of multiple project workstreams, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
* Define project scopes, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and key stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment across all initiatives.
* Develop and oversee comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation and effective management of assets.
* Manage timelines, milestones, and deliverables rigorously, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues to maintain project momentum.
* Coordinate cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance that drives project success.
* Monitor project progress and performance diligently, providing regular, insightful status updates to stakeholders and senior management to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
* Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments to measure outcomes and drive continuous improvement, leveraging lessons learned to enhance future project execution.
* Uphold and promote quality standards across the project, ensuring that deliverables meet or exceed organisational expectations.
* Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations effectively, serving as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications and addressing concerns promptly.
* Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous learning within the project team, encouraging knowledge sharing and skills development to enhance overall team performance.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field.
* Proven experience as a Project Manager, with at least 10 years in a senior role managing complex and interdependent projects from initiation to completion.
* Solid understanding and experience of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA).
* Resilient character with strong leadership, organizational, planning and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
* Proven experience of contracting and managing third party technology and technology vendors and service providers.
* Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
* PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
* Experience of ITSM systems implementation/migration.
* Experience in provisioning and subscription management systems.
* Experience of running a commercial RFP (Request for Proposal) to select COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) technologies.
* Experience of managing data management projects, including data quality, integration, migration and MDM (Master Data Management).
* Experience in telecommunications industry is a plus.
* Experience of working for a Managed Service Provider is a plus.
* Experience of working in an iPaaS API driven environment is a plus.
