AI Engineer | Contract | Initial 3 Months | Newcastle (Hybrid) | £550–590/day Inside IR35
We have a new contract role for an AI Engineer to work on cutting‑edge generative AI solutions leveraging Google Gemini and Google Cloud Platform.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week required on site in Newcastle.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement AI-driven solutions using Google Gemini and Vertex AI
* Build and integrate generative AI models via APIs
* Develop scalable backend systems in Python for data processing and model orchestration.
* Implement RAG workflows and vector search for knowledge integration
* Deploy solutions on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring security and compliance
* Apply ML Ops best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring
* Python
* ML libraries: TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain
* CI/CD with Docker/Kubernetes
Ideal Candidate
* Strong background in Machine Learning, Generative AI, or Software Engineering
* Hands‑on experience with Google Gemini, Vertex AI, and GCP services
* Proven ability to integrate foundation models and build scalable AI systems
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment
* Bonus: Experience with prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and taking POCs to production
