Project Background
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support a critical infrastructure project in Leeds. The role will sit under the guidance of a Commercial Manager and focus on effective management of costs, variations, applications for payment, and reporting within an NEC contract framework. The assignment is with a Tier 1 contractor and is expected to run full-time for 12–24 months.
Responsibilities
* Support the Commercial Manager in the delivery of all commercial aspects of the project
* Manage and assess variations, applications for payment (AFPs), and related commercial documentation
* Prepare accurate cost reports and forecasts in line with project requirements
* Ensure compliance with NEC contract conditions and project governance
* Liaise with project stakeholders to monitor costs, risks, and progress against budget
* Provide timely and accurate commercial information to support decision-making

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within large infrastructure or rail projects
* Strong understanding of NEC contracts and their practical application
* Demonstrated ability to manage variations, AFPs, and cost reporting independently
* Solid numerical, analytical, and communication skills
* Comfortable working under the direction of a Commercial Manager within a Tier 1 contractor environment
Eligibility
* Resident in Leeds (or willing to be based in Leeds for the project)
* Right to work as a contractor in the UK
