Role Overview
This appointment is for two Consultant Dermatologists on a permanent contract. You will join the University Hospitals Dermatology Team of seven consultants at an exciting time as the cross-site teams are brought together. The role is available at University Hospital Dorset and involves delivering a full range of dermatology services to patients from Dorset and Hampshire at Christchurch Hospital and Poole Hospital. Funding is available for two full-time posts, with flexibility to consider part-time applicants to complement the current senior doctors’ plans. Sub‑speciality interests in Moh's micrographic surgery, medical dermatology, and pathology are encouraged and supported.
Responsibilities
Provide specialist dermatology care to patients across the two well-resourced units, including assessment, diagnosis and management of dermatological conditions. Participate in cross-site team meetings and support the integration of services following the recent merger. Contribute to the delivery of innovative care pathways and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Qualifications & Requirements
Full registration with a UK medical board and current consultant status or the ability to complete CESR application within the post. Demonstrated interest or experience in a dermatology sub‑specialty is desirable. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment and adapt to evolving service delivery models.
Working Hours & On‑Call
Participation in an out-of-hours rota may be required, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, as per service needs. Hours outside the standard rota will be compensated in line with NHS Medical and Dental Terms and Conditions of Service.
