Trainer - Part time 20 hours per week
The post-holder will be assisting and supporting the and the CAF Training & Competency Manager, in designing, refining, implementing and delivery of training, assessing and certification of competence within a railway engineering environment across all CAF Rolling Stock projects in the UK.
The role will also involve assisting the CAF Rolling Stock UK management team in ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, standards and CAF rolling stock procedures; that safe processes are developed with the relevant Line Managers and Team Leaders/engineers, achieving challenging safety objectives and developing a positive safety culture across all CAF Rolling Stock UK sites.
Key Responsibilities
1. Using best practice methodologies, deliver training and competency assessments ensuring co-ordination and implementation of regulatory certification of competence and relevant Company standards, external accreditation standards, industry codes of practice, strategies and policies significant to the safe use, operation, assembly and maintenance of Rolling Stock.
2. Carry out briefings, toolbox talks and visitor/contractors’ inductions in support and assistance of the depot/locations.
3. Support Training activities for colleagues at the various depots in the UK.
4. Ensure audit standards are maintained and support periodic audits to ensuring ongoing compliance with legislation, certificated standards and company procedure
5. Advise the management team on legislative and regulation updates relevant to the environment, ensuring the Safety Management System is kept up to date.
6. Liaise with regulatory bodies, customers and suppliers as necessary to assist in the close out of Non compliance, observations, or concerns.
7. Engage staff of all levels in promoting a positive safety culture across the all locations using a challenge and be challenged attitude, and promoting positive behaviours from a lead by example position.
8. Provide project and new process pre start advice to project or location teams. Able to work flexibly and work across a broad range of activities.
