As well as supporting their 1:1 child, they should when possible support all children with their education. Create a safe learning environment for children to develop socially, emotionally and academically. Assist in monitoring pupil progress. An eagerness to learn and develop good behaviour strategies, when assisting the class teacher. What the teaching assistant will have: A friendly, approachable character, which will help build strong relationships with children and staff. Previous experience in schools or childcare is preferable but not essential for the right candidate. A proactive and can do attitude. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
