Job Overview
Working closely with and providing support to the qualified staff in Gwent Community Dental Services (CDS) in order to ensure the smooth running of dental clinics ensuring safe patient focussed care at all times. To undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade and responsibility of the post as required by the Dental Nurse Manager such as covering the dental helpline at Cwmbran dental clinic, when the Dental Helpline staff are on annual leave and/or sick leave.

Main duties of the job
37.5 hours per week, to be worked over 5 days Monday‑Friday based at 19 Hills Health and Wellbeing Centre, Ringland, and covering the dental Helpline staff in Cwmbran clinic on annual leave and/or sick leave and working on Wednesday at Abertillery Health Centre, Dental Department.
Oral Health Assistant is a post working closely with and providing support to the qualified staff in the Community Dental Services (CDS). Duties include reception and administration, assisting dental nurses in the decontamination process.
We are currently looking for an experienced person with customer care and reception skills who are friendly, enthusiastic and approachable individual based at 19 Hills Health and Wellbeing Centre, Ringland, although you may be expected to travel to the other dental clinics across Gwent. Travelling expenses are paid from your base or home.
This role involves you to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. The post holder will be proficient in dealing with confidentiality issues and be courteous at all times with excellent communication skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and workload. To be computer literate is essential. A flexible and co‑operative approach to work will be important.
