Job Description
This is a crucial role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Our Head Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting food dishes to deliver an excellent guest and member experience while contributing to departmental targets. You’ll ensure quality, kitchen maintenance, and inventory management to keep the kitchen running smoothly.

Your day to day
People
* Direct daily kitchen activities, plan and assign work ensuring you have the right staffing numbers
* Develop your team through coaching and feedback, set development goals, and recognise performance
* Staff training (induction, health and safety, security, technical and behavioural)
* Recommend or initiate HR actions where needed
* Foster a great working environment and connect departments to create a one-team culture
* Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
* Communicate with all hotel department heads to stay informed of kitchen needs
Guest Experience
* Monitor guest satisfaction scores and implement measures to meet targets
* Encourage guest feedback to improve satisfaction
* Answer guest questions about dishes and kitchen services
Responsible Business
* Manage and maintain HACCP
* Meet health and hygiene requirements
* Health and Safety management – comply with procedures and audits
* Monitor industry trends to develop ideas for the kitchen
* Ensure safe storage and stock replenishment to minimise waste
* Maintain hygienic and well-functioning kitchen equipment and environment
* Follow governmental regulations and company policies
Financial
* Complete forecasts, plans, and departmental production reports
* Assist with the hotel’s annual budget and departmental goals
* Maintain costing and documentation of all dishes
* Contribute to kitchen revenue through cost control
* Purchase goods meeting required standards
* Ensure stock rotation is accurate and documented daily
* End-of-month stock levels are accurate
Accountability
This role involves working in Kitchen and Food & Beverage areas. Hours include mornings, evenings and weekends. You may assist other departments as needed and should maintain good working relationships.
Essential
What we need from you
* 2 years’ experience as a Senior Chef de Partie in a restaurant or hotel
* Experience leading and developing others within a kitchen
* Food Hygiene Certificate
Desirable
* Hospitality industry experience as a Chef
* Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
* NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation and Cooking
