The Band 5 Occupational Therapist will join the multidisciplinary urgent care CAMHS Service, delivering therapeutic day provision and “think family” community support for children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties. The Occupational Therapist plays a pivotal role in supporting a recovery‑focused environment where early intervention and intensive support are key.
Responsibilities
* Effectively manage a caseload of children and young people with mental health and occupational performance needs based on the nature, complexity and urgency of each individual case.
* Plan and provide occupational therapy in consultation with other colleagues and work in a range of settings as appropriate (e.g. community, health centre’s).
* Adopt a family‑centred and trauma‑informed approach to therapy, collaborating with children and young people (and/or carer(s) where appropriate) in all aspects of the therapy process (assessment, planning, evaluation, reporting).
* Select and conduct specific specialist occupational therapy assessments, addressing the physical, emotional wellbeing, psychosocial, behavioural, perceptual, cognitive, sensory and environmental needs of clients.
* Provide clinical assistance and support to the professional qualified staff in the delivery of a range of psycho‑education interventions to support crisis management and recovery.
