We are currently working in partnership with an educational institution based in Bristol, who are recruiting for a Head of Governance on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The position is due to start by the beginning of August, and is a full-time position.
The salary is between £59,000 - £64,500 per annum, and the successful candidate will be required to attend office two or three times per week.
The ideal candidate will have public sector governance experience, and previous line management experience.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Ensuring the effective and compliant operation of the organisation’s governing bodies and overseeing the organisation’s constitution
* Actively leading and managing a team of three
* Providing expert advice to the organisation’s governing bodies (Court, Senate, Board of Trustees, etc.) on governance matters, including meeting procedures, and ensuring the proper conduct of business
* Providing support, guidance and advice to any incoming governance queries, as escalated by the team
* Supporting governing bodies by providing administrative and logistical support, including meeting preparation and management
* Servicing executive and board-level committees
Experience required:
* Experience required in public sector
* Line management experience
Working hours:
* 35 hours per week
* Monday – Friday, flexible start and finish times
* No evening or weekend meetings
