Creative Instructor - Summer - Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire
Hours of work: 08:30 – 17:30
Salary: £412.00 – £559.17 per week, depending on age, experience, and qualifications.
(February Half Term Contracts will be issued on 2023 wage level. 2024 wage level effective from 1st April.)
Reportable to: Camp Senior Team, Area Manager, and Central Office

CREATIVE INSTRUCTOR DUTIES
* Set up and maintain Arts & Crafts, Dance & Drama areas to be suitable and inviting for children, keeping work areas tidy and resources stocked.
* Follow policies and procedures to ensure children have fun in a safe environment.
* Use available resources to plan and deliver a variety of exciting, age-appropriate creative activities.
* Provide safety instructions and demonstrations for equipment, ensuring adherence.
* Work alongside other staff members assisting with sessions.
* Take responsibility for general welfare and safeguarding.
* Ensure children's needs are met with active supervision, including during breaks and lunch.
* Create prototypes for art sessions display.
* Encourage maximum participation from children.
* Maintain a tidy site/base rooms and pack away equipment.
REQUIREMENTS
* Experience in a creative background.
* Be aged 18 or over by the start date.
* Be eligible to work in the UK.
* Provide satisfactory references.
* Be enthusiastic, caring, organized, and possess excellent communication skills.
* Obtain an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or have an existing one on the Update Service.
* Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas (see Staffroom for dates).
* Complete annual Online Training.
* Attend Induction Training Day before your first season.
* Follow child protection policies when using camp tablets/kindles for music.
* Assist with camp pack-up.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Follow Health and Safety guidelines diligently.
* Organize and deliver activities appropriate to your qualifications and skills.
* Encourage children to participate in activities as per the timetable.
* Supervise children to behave safely, know their whereabouts, and communicate daily about behavior codes.
* Follow all camp systems and guidelines on child welfare.
* Be a positive role model promoting health, hygiene, and welfare.
* Report child protection concerns to your Senior Team or Central Office.
* Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs.
* Support swimming sessions if required (bring swimwear and a spare T-shirt).
