Overview
Do you enjoy solving complex problems, simplifying big ideas, and building trusted relationships with clients and colleagues? As a C&I Engineer in the AtkinsRéalis Nuclear business, you'll contribute to projects across Nuclear New Build, Decommissioning, Reactor Operations and Fusion, gaining rapid responsibility and delivering real impact alongside a diverse, supportive C&I team.
Your role
* Work on a variety of projects across the full project lifecycle; from concept and tendering through to design development, supply, installation, commissioning and decommissioning.
* Develop and review technical documentation such as specifications, basis of design, control philosophies, instrument data sheets, loop diagrams, etc.
* Support the design of control system architectures, including I/O allocation, communication networks and control room/HMI layouts.
* Participate in safety activities including HAZOP, SIL assessments, HAZAN and FMEA, ensuring designs comply with relevant standards and regulations.
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, providing technical expertise through procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
* Produce high‑quality reports and drawings while managing your workload effectively and engaging directly with clients both remotely and on‑site.
About You
* Degree (or equivalent) in Instrumentation or Control Engineering.
* Strong engineering judgment and solid understanding of IEC/BS standards.
* Ability to produce and review high‑quality technical drawings and reports.
* Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
* Attention to detail, good time management, and a proactive approach to learning and professional development.
Security clearance
This role may require security clearance. Offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If required, this will be discussed at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer. Candidates should not reference any current or previously held security clearance details in conversation or application.
