We have an exciting opportunity for a driven and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance Team as an Assistant Management Accountant. In this role, you'll work closely with the Management Accountant to deliver high-quality management accounting services. You'll provide the production management team with accurate financial insights and performance analysis, helping to inform strategic decisions and drive operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include reporting on key metrics such as yield and labour efficiency, producing timely weekly and monthly variance reports, and assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts with a focus on overheads. You'll also compile and present departmental variance reports to cost centre managers, offering valuable analysis to support performance improvement.
You'll have ownership of the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate transaction tracking in SAP, and monitor capital project spend, producing clear reports for senior stakeholders. Additionally, you'll contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting, and wider business planning activities.
This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for turning financial data into meaningful business insight.
Education and experience:
· AAT qualified or early-stage CIMA, ACCA, or CA student
· Previous experience in a management accounting role, ideally within a manufacturing or supply chain environment
· Strong IT proficiency, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
· Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems
