The role
As Head of Technical Delivery, you will lead the engineering, data and IT functions to ensure SelectScience’s digital products, systems and platforms are delivered, supported and continuously improved. You will own the product delivery roadmap, drive technical execution, and ensure reliability, performance and security across all systems.
You will work closely with Product, Commercial, Editorial and external technology partners to deliver high‑quality platform enhancements, new features and scalable technical solutions that support our growth.
This is a full‑time hybrid role, reporting directly to the CEO.
Snapshot of the role:
1. Lead and develop high‑performing engineering, data and IT operations teams.
2. Drive predictable delivery of product iterations, new features and system improvements.
3. Make key architectural decisions to ensure platforms remain scalable, secure and customer‑centric.
4. Oversee sprint planning, execution, QA and release processes.
5. Own the stability, reliability and performance of digital platforms, systems and integrations.
6. Ensure robust cybersecurity, compliance, governance and monitoring processes.
7. Translate product roadmaps into clear, deliverable technical plans.
8. Collaborate closely with senior leadership, aligning technical execution with business goals.
9. Manage internal and external engineering, data and IT vendors and partners.
10. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
11. Oversee data infrastructure, analytics tooling, event tracking and delivery of AI‑driven capabilities.

Skills and Experience:
18. Strong leadership experience across engineering, data, AI and IT operations.
19. Proven track record delivering complex, client‑facing digital products or platforms.
20. Deep understanding of modern software engineering, DevOps, CI/CD and agile methodologies.
21. Strong architectural decision‑making skills across web technologies, cloud infrastructure, data and AI.
22. Experience managing multidisciplinary internal teams and external vendors.
23. Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical detail into business impact.
24. Strong problem‑solving, prioritisation and decision‑making abilities.
25. Degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field.
Desirable:
26. Experience in SaaS, marketplaces or content‑driven digital environments.
27. Knowledge of security standards, compliance frameworks and DevOps best practice.
28. Background in scientific, technical, publishing or other B2B digital industries.
29. Experience scaling teams, platforms and operational processes.
