Job Details
* Title: Electrical Design Engineer
* Reports to: Design Manager
* Based at: Cookstown
Job Purpose
To work as part of a manufacturing team, designing and developing motor control & power distribution panels to client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Interpret client requirements during the design phase.
2. Prepare detailed electrical design and general arrangement drawings for manufacturing.
3. Ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations.
4. Prepare bills of materials for procurement.
5. Develop documentation for testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical systems.
6. Assist in tender preparation.
7. Participate in design and process reviews.
8. Engage in problem-solving and brainstorming, individually and as part of the team.
9. Maintain and update electronic files using document management software.
10. Liaise with clients and build effective relationships.
11. Stay updated with legislation, technological advances, and new products.
12. Develop personal skills through ongoing training.
13. Undertake other duties as appropriate.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications / Knowledge
* Electrical engineering qualification or relevant design experience in switchgear, automation, or control systems.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
* UK Driver's License and willingness to travel.
Experience
* At least 5 years of electrical experience or relevant qualification.
* Experience in electrical control system design, EPlan & AutoCAD, and water industry experience (desirable).
Skills & Abilities
* Logical problem-solving aptitude.
* Ability to learn new technologies.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and in a team.
* Understanding of engineering drawings.
* Project management skills (desirable).
