Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Technology Engineer!
Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Full-time, On-site)
Salary: Circa £45,000 (dependent on experience)
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Manufacturing Technology Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and efficiency in our submarine manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading Manufacturing Technology projects from inception to implementation, including research, proof of concepts, and pilot programs.
* Collaborating with a dynamic team to enhance the Submarines programme.
* Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including inter-business teams and suppliers.
* Utilizing problem-solving techniques to advance technology solutions that improve manufacturing and construction processes.
* Creating and reviewing Manufacturing Technology documentation to support project lifecycles.
* Developing business justifications for new technologies and assessing their cost benefits.
* Supporting the creation of technology roadmaps.
Your Skills and Experiences:
Essential:
* Level 4 Qualification in a related field or equivalent experience.
* Experience in welding and/or fabrication within heavy industry.
* Proven track record in process improvements.
* Ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
* Familiarity with Technology Readiness Levels (TRL).
Desirable:
* Experience in developing business cases or justifications.
* Knowledge of the Catapult network.
* Background in Research & Development activities.
