Overview:
The Quality Team works with stakeholders across the College to ensure that UKBC's educational services align with sector-recognised standards and best practice in higher education, as well as other relevant professional accreditation frameworks. The work of the team is crucial to the success of the College's partnerships with awarding bodies, as well as its standing with statutory and regulatory bodies.
The role of the Quality Officer is to provide high-level support for college quality monitoring and evaluation activities that assure the effectively delivery of higher education programmes at UKBC. They will provide staff with guidance on the correct application of College regulations, policies and procedures.
Duties:
The core duties of a Quality Officer include:
* Working with senior management stakeholders to develop key institutional policies and procedures, ensuring that these are congruent with all applicable requirements and best practice in higher education.
* Maintaining the register of academic policies, regulations, and other key documents incorporating a review and publication cycle.
* Working with senior staff to compile the College's internal monitoring reports and supporting internal audits as part of UKBC's academic governance and oversight.
* Liaising with the Registry team to gather KPI data for internal monitoring and evaluation.
* Supporting and servicing key governance committee meetings and events, including the timey circulation of committee papers and minute taking,
* Receiving and responding to enquiries about QA and institutional governance, providing clear and accurate guidance (including in areas of ambiguity) to ensure staff are aware of QA requirements,
* Liaising with staff to compile information to respond to external enquiries (such as due diligence requests and OfS regulatory notices), and to check the accuracy of this information,
* Organising a range of training events, meetings and conferences, involving internal and external contacts,
* Managing the Quality filing system and archives,
* Maintaining and updating the quality department's annual events calendar,
* Liaising with student representatives and Student Union coordinators to ensure student's participation in quality assurance,
The Quality Officer must have:
* Experience of quality assurance in a higher education setting,
* Knowledge of the UK higher education regulatory framework,
* Exceptional written English and experience of preparing formal correspondences,
* High level of proficiency in using IT applications, such as MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook),
* Good interpersonal and communicative skills, and level temperament,
* Ability to independently manage tasks to meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of how to prepare meeting minutes and actions,
