Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Night Shift
Location: Sittingbourne, COOK KITCHEN
Hours: Sunday – Thursday 10pm - 6am
Pay rate : £46996 per year (depends on experience)
We’re looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our busy night shift team and keep our large-scale food production kitchens running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for breakdown response, repairs, and planned maintenance across a wide variety of production equipment and site services.
The Role
* Respond to breakdowns quickly and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
* Use Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to prevent repeat issues.
* Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production and site services equipment.
* Support operations teams with equipment issues, working closely with Engineering and production colleagues.
* Work safely, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and food industry standards.
* Liaise with external contractors when required.
What we’re looking for
* Time-served Engineering Apprenticeship with NVQ, National Certificate, or City & Guilds qualifications.
* Strong electrical and mechanical skills within food, FMCG, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
* Experience with production, packaging, labelling, weighing, refrigeration, steam, and utilities equipment.
* Knowledge of HACCP & Food Safety (desirable).
* Good understanding of safe systems of work, with strong communication and IT skills.
