Job Summary
The position is part of the Trusts Pharmacy Procurement and Distribution Department, providing purchasing, contracting, inventory management, receipt, storage, and distribution services for approximately £350m of annualised spend.
Although no direct budget management, the post holder will understand the Trust’s budgeting process and cost allocation mechanisms, supporting the Operations Manager in managing all medicinal supply services, implementing and supporting initiatives, and negotiating staff transfers to reflect departmental work activity.
Responsibilities
* Assist and deputise for the Operations Manager in delivering the total medicines supply management process, with emphasis on warehouse utilisation, receipt, distribution and continuity of supply.
* Manage the introduction and regulatory compliance of new products.
* Promote and deploy a warehouse management system across the portfolio, negotiating service provision with customers.
* Help formulate and implement local policies related to supply chain and inventory management.
* Collaborate with customers to deliver high-quality medicines supply services that improve patient care.
Qualifications
* Degree plus Advanced Diploma in Procurement & Supply and membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
* OR recognised qualification in pharmacy/medicines management and significant relevant experience, with MHRA Good Distribution Practice knowledge equivalent to degree level and evidence of further specialist training.
Experience
* Experience in handling medical products and their distribution requirements.
* Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
* Professional approach to work, adherence to Ethical Code of Conduct and Trust’s Code of Conduct.
* Commitment to staff development and sponsorship of professional development.
Additional Information
Band: 6. Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 per year. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Full-time.
