Infrastructure Planning Associate/Associate Director
Role overview: Join to apply for the Infrastructure Planning Associate/Associate Director role at Stantec. The Infrastructure Planning team specialise in the planning, assessment and consenting of large-scale infrastructure projects across the UK, providing Planning and EIA strategy advice and process management for NSIPs under the Planning Act 2008, Developments of National Significance (DNS) in Wales, and s36 Electricity Act projects in Scotland. The team operates nationwide across all infrastructure sectors with specialisms including renewable and low carbon energy, solar, airports, ports, nuclear, and highways. We are seeking an Infrastructure Planning Associate or Associate Director, ideally with experience leading such projects (or ready to step up into a lead role) and strong technical knowledge of relevant consenting regimes (Development Consent Orders, DCO). You will play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK.
Responsibilities
* Lead major infrastructure planning projects across the UK, including NSIPs and DCOs, with experience in planning, assessment and consenting.
* Provide Planning and EIA strategy advice and manage related processes for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) under the Planning Act 2008, DNS in Wales, and s36 Electricity Act projects in Scotland.
* Collaborate across sectors (renewable and low carbon energy, solar, airports, ports, nuclear, highways) and act as a technical lead where appropriate.
Qualifications
* MRTPI qualification (or equivalent) with experience in major infrastructure or energy consenting.
* Proven track record in managing planning projects including Development Consent Orders (DCOs).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships.
* Proactive and results-oriented with keen attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and manage a complex workload.
* Willingness to travel nationally as required.
Location and fit
The role is ideally based in one of Stantec's UK offices (central Cambridge, London Soho Square, Leeds or Manchester). Other locations within a commutable distance may be considered.
