We are currently looking for an experienced Residential Property Lawyer/Conveyancer to join our busy Residential Property team. We are a large and expanding team of skilled and respected property lawyers who pride themselves on providing a client centric approach. You'll report directly to the Head of Department and be responsible for providing first class legal services and assistance to a range of clients. This role is office based in our Newport, Isle of Wight office. Role Responsibilities As a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer you will be responsible for effectively and efficiently managing your own diverse caseload. You will provide sound, professional advice to clients (as buyer, seller, lender or any other interested party). Responsibilities include: Effectively and efficiently manage a wide variety of residential property work from instruction to completion, working independently but within an experienced and supportive team. Maintain regular communication with clients and third parties, handling enquiries with empathy and professionalism, particularly when clients are vulnerable or under stress. Collaborate with team members across all roles, contributing to a respectful, efficient, and client-centered working environment. Open, maintain, and organise client files using the DPS case management system, following all relevant Solicitors Regulation Authority (“ SRA ”) rules, General Data Protection Regulation (“ GDPR ”) requirements, Anti-Money Laundering (“ AML ”) obligations, and internal compliance and paper light policies. Support the growth of the department and company as a whole by actively contributing to agreed business development goals, enhancing our reputation and fostering client referrals. Job Requirements Our ideal candidate will be someone with proven experience who takes a professional, client-first approach to each case they run. They will have sound knowledge and expertise in the field, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate in a friendly, professional and confidential manner. The role will suit those with a positive and flexible approach and an ability to remain calm under pressure in order to project the image and ethos of the firm at all times. Whilst character is important to us, we do require a certain level of experience and qualification to succeed in this role. These are: Must hold qualified solicitor status in England and Wales or be a qualified Legal Executive or be a qualified Licensed Conveyancer We do not tend to use PQE as the sole measure of experience, but we estimate that this position would suit somebody with at least 2 years PQE. Any Newly Qualified candidates should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of a variety of matters they have assisted on during their training.
