Disability Assessor – Adult Disability Assessments
Location: Chatham (Hybrid – Remote & Site Based)
Contract: Full-Time or Part-Time | Permanent
Start Dates: November 2025 & January 2026
The Role – What You’ll Do As a Disability Assessor, you’ll carry out functional health assessments for adults with long-term conditions, disabilities, or mental health challenges.
You’ll focus on understanding how their condition affects daily living, not on diagnosis or treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct adult-only assessments via telephone, video, and face-to-face (approx. 70% remote)
Review medical evidence and complete structured, evidence-based reports
Assess a wide range of physical, cognitive, and mental health conditions
Produce clear, impartial clinical reports to support DWP benefit decisions
Work autonomously with access to dedicated clinical support
Gain full diary control and increased flexibility after 6 months
Who We’re Looking For This role is open to experienced, adult-focused clinicians with current registration as:
Registered General Nurse (RGN)
Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD)
Physiotherapist
Occupational Therapist
Paramedic
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 12 months’ post-registration experience (adult settings)
At least one full year of UK-based clinical practice post-registration
Current registration with NMC or HCPC
Strong clinical reasoning and report-writing skills
Solid IT literacy and ability to work independently
Ability to commute to Chatham (or nearby areas) for face-to-face assessments
Right to work in the UK — unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for these roles
What You’ll Receive Salary: £39,500 – £41,500 per annum
Performance Bonus: Up to 10% annually
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm
No evenings, weekends, or bank holidays
