 
        
        Overview
Environment Agency role focused on supporting the team overseeing the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors, aiming to maximise value for money and set up collaborative partnerships that deliver for both the organisation and society. The role forms part of the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management Team (CAFM) within Portfolio Management, Assurance & Commercial (PMAC).
The team provides country-wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams and wider Project Management community, championing effective governance and commercial assurance.
Responsibilities
 * Support the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management Team to provide governance and commercial assurance across Programme delivery and the wider PM community.
 * Help set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long-term collaborative partnership arrangements that deliver value for money.
 * Collaborate with local delivery hubs to ensure sustainable outcomes on delivery programmes and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.
 * Participate in incident response duties when required to support communities and protect the environment.
 * Stay integrated with the national team and adapt to changing delivery needs and priorities.
Experience/skills and Qualifications
 * A-Level qualifications, Level 3 qualifications or equivalent (Essential).
 * Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing abilities; stakeholder management experience.
 * Strong data and document management skills.
 * Commercial acumen: ability to understand and analyse business situations, assess risks proportionately, and deliver value for money.
 * Administration skills: ability to write minutes and draft reports.
 * Willingness to shadow and pursue long-term professional qualifications (e.g., NEC training, CIPS) and ask questions to develop professionally.
 * Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
 * Degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience; working towards status with professional bodies (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, or RICS).
 * Formal training in contract management (e.g., NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
