Location: Croydon Job Type: Contract, expected to work Full-Time hours Job Duties: Planning and delivering engaging and effective English lessons to students Developing and implementing appropriate teaching strategies and materials Assessing and evaluating students' progress and providing constructive feedback Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring discipline Collaborating with colleagues and parents to support students' learning and development Maintaining accurate records of students' attendance, achievements, and progress Participating in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge Required Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Education: A bachelor's degree in English or a related field Experience: Prior experience in teaching English, preferably in a secondary school setting Knowledge and Skills: Excellent knowledge and understanding of the English language Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to engage and motivate students Effective classroom management skills Adaptability to different learning styles and abilities Organisational and time management skills Preferred Qualifications: Additional certifications or qualifications in English language teaching Experience in using technology for teaching and learning Working Conditions: The English Teacher will primarily work in a classroom setting within a secondary school. The role may involve occasional extracurricular activities and participation in school events. The teacher will follow the school's academic calendar and work closely with the school administration, colleagues, and parents.
