The role is critical to maintaining business functions and will develop in stages during the transition from site PC to full customer operations. The Multiskilled Engineer will be responsible and oversee Shift Technician duties and the custodian of all building services, reporting to the Engineering Manager.
The shift engineer will have responsibility for the operational performance/ compliance and safety of the building and will be responsible for specialist sub-contractors and to maintain high quality service delivery.
Key Tasks
Carry out the planned preventative maintenance programme and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines, statutory acts, SFG (aligned to HTM) regulations. Update site-specific governance processes, CAFM system accordingly.
Expected to deliver a high level of customer experience focused service and participated in additional training when required.
Take specific responsibility for the maintenance and operation of the sites critical, electrical, mechanical and HVAC services- SDFG/ HTM Regulation (training to be provided)
Work with engineering supervisor to update a Safe Systems of Work process and periodically as may be required.
Highlight risks, opportunities and actively support team with ESG goals.
Manage and conduct fault finding across all engineering infrastructures.
Conduct all statutory system and asset testing and report accordingly.
Develop a complete familiarity with the operation and recovery of all business-critical systems within the building.
Attendance may also be required occasionally outside normal hours to deal with certain maintenance procedures and specialist critical system contractors.
Deliver and comply with all statutory, company and client specific environmental, health, safety, and quality standards as applicable
Liaise with, PTW, monitor and control the activities of all outside contractors working on site.
Minimise the risk of plant failure and breakdown and promote a reliability centred and conditioned based proactive maintenance process.
Be responsible for and ensure the effectiveness of the shift team in terms of technical competency, HR, Safety and service delivery.
Personal Specification
Experience:
Certified Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC Craft Apprenticeship.
Minimum City & Guilds certificate/s within an appropriate engineering discipline.
18th Edition Wiring and Installation. (or working towards)
Fully conversant with HTM regulations. (or training to be provided)
Proven knowledge and experience with critical building infrastructure equipment and maintenance, including but not limited to HVAC, HV/VL, Chillers, L8, Life safety equipment, UPS, Generators.
Building Management Systems.
Healthcare Environment experience desirable.
Permit to Work, RAMs and Authorisation processes.
Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Previous supervisory experience.
Have good understanding of Health & Safety issues and reporting
