About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing global trading firm operating across traditional and digital asset markets. Designed by technologists and financial engineers, their platforms prioritise scale, resilience, and high performance.
With a new engineering hub in Belfast, they're investing in building core trading systems and infrastructure locally. The Belfast team is focused on developing high-performance, real-time systems to support a major trading platform launch in 2026.
The Role
We're looking for a Mid/Senior QA Engineer with 3+ years of automation experience to join the founding Belfast engineering pod. You'll help deliver high-quality software by building automated test pipelines, integrating QA into CI/CD processes, and ensuring the reliability and performance of real-time systems.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to QA strategy, influence testing best practices, and gain exposure to complex, high-performance trading systems from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain automated test suites for back-end services, APIs, and data pipelines
* Identify and report defects, working closely with developers to resolve issues quickly
* Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery
* Support QA strategy and contribute to testing standards and best practices
* Collaborate with engineers to design testable architectures and identify early failure points
* Contribute to release management and system validation for production deployments
Ideal Candidate Profile
* 3+ years' experience in QA or software engineering with a focus on automation
* Hands-on experience building automated test frameworks in Java, Python, or similar
* Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and event-driven architectures
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud environments (AWS preferred)
* Exposure to financial systems, real-time data processing, or trading platforms is desirable but not essential
Essential Criteria
* Strong experience in automated testing for back-end systems
* Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills
* Collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, engineering-driven environment
* Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
What's on Offer:
* Competitive salary up to £65k plus Bonus
* Generous benefits package
* Hybrid working with a modern Belfast office
