Graduate Estimator (Mechanical & Electrical)Location: Desborough, NorthamptonshireContract Type: Full-Time, PermanentSector: Mechanical & Electrical Building ServicesSalary: Competitive + BenefitsThe RoleA well-established M&E contractor is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to develop a long-term career within the building services and construction industry.The successful candidate will support the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of commercial, industrial, and residential M&E projects, working alongside experienced estimators within a supportive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical and electrical projectsAnalyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentationCarry out quantity take-offs and cost analysisObtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotationsSupport senior estimators with pricing exercises and bid strategy developmentMaintain accurate estimating records and project dataLiaise with internal departments, clients, suppliers, and subcontractorsAssist with the ongoing review of project costs and commercial informationRequirementsDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, or a related disciplineStrong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applicationsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalMotivated, proactive, and eager to learn within a fast-paced environmentDesirableUnderstanding of mechanical and electrical building services systemsPrevious internship, placement, or work experience within construction or estimatingFamiliarity with estimating software packagesQualificationsDegree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, or similar relevant subjectWhats on OfferStructured training and career developmentOngoing mentorship from experienced industry professionalsCompetitive salary and benefits packageSupportive and collaborative working environmentOpportunity to develop a long-term career within a growing M&E contractorCompany DescriptionWe are a well-established and growing Mechanical & Electrical contractor delivering high-quality building services solutions across the commercial, industrial, residential, and social housing sectors throughout the UK.Operating from our Northamptonshire office, we specialise in electrical installations, mechanical services, HVAC, renewable energy solutions, EV charging infrastructure, and planned maintenance works.
