SEND Teaching Assistant – Secondary Full-time | Permanent | Start: Spring 2026 We are supporting a high-performing secondary school to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant to join its established SEND department. This role is ideal for someone who wants to work closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, supporting both academic progress and personal development in and beyond the classroom. The Role You will work as part of a SEND support team, providing in-class and out-of-class support to students with identified SEND needs. This includes 1:1 support, small group interventions, and contributing to a positive, structured learning environment. You will play a key role in helping pupils engage with learning, regulate behaviour, and make meaningful progress. Requirements Key Responsibilities Support students with SEND in lessons and during structured interventions Deliver targeted small-group support programmes Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum effectively Support behaviour and emotional regulation strategies Promote a calm, purposeful learning environment Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and pastoral teams Monitor and support pupil progress and engagement The Setting This is a well-established secondary school with strong academic outcomes and a clear commitment to developing the whole child, not just exam results.
