We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Area Maintenance Fitter to join our team, responsible for our quarries across Wickwar, Leinthall, and Naunton. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, this multi-site role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives on autonomy and is passionate about developing others. You’ll play a crucial part in supporting and guiding our apprentices, helping shape the future of our workforce.

Description
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Area Maintenance Fitter to join our team, responsible for our quarries across Wickwar, Leinthall, and Naunton. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, this multi-site role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives on autonomy and is passionate about developing others. You’ll play a crucial part in supporting and guiding our apprentices, helping shape the future of our workforce.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform repairs and fabrication on various machinery and equipment across the Wickwar, Leinthall, and Naunton quarries.
* Conduct routine safety checks on tools and equipment.
* Carry out remedial repairs around the quarries as needed.
* Organise and manage workshop equipment efficiently.
* Collaborate with the team on larger maintenance projects.
* Support and develop new starters and apprentices, providing guidance and answering questions.
* Liaise with college staff to monitor and support apprentice development.
* Conduct regular machinery servicing and maintenance.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Essential: Health & Safety conscious with a strong sense of responsibility.
* Self-Motivated: Able to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
* Team Player: Enjoys working collaboratively and assisting team members.
* Organised: Effective at managing tools, equipment, and project timelines.
* Technical Skills: Qualified in welding with experience in machinery maintenance and repair.
* Coaching Ability: Patient and supportive, capable of mentoring and motivating apprentices.
