Junior Sister
An exciting opportunity has emerged to join the dynamic senior nursing team at the Royal Stoke Emergency Department. This secondment offers an ideal pathway for nurses aspiring to step into management roles within a supportive environment.
Main duties
* Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrate excellent communication, motivation, and enthusiasm.
* Take on managerial responsibility for a number of staff within the nursing team.
* Lead nurse‑led care on a shift‑by‑shift basis.
* Deliver gold‑standard nursing practice across a diverse emergency caseload.
* Act as a role model, leading by example in all areas of clinical practice.
* Take charge in the absence of other senior staff.
* Manage and respond to complaints and Datix reports professionally.
* Champion specific areas of departmental interest to support ongoing service development.
Qualifications and experience
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
* Completed an academic nursing qualification at least level 6.
* Completed an academic nursing qualification at least level 7.
* Completed trauma nursing course.
* Completed Datix responses.
* Participated actively in an improvement initiative within the department.
* 5 years post PIN experience in a large Emergency Department.
* Competent in all areas of emergency nursing.
Contract details
Salary: £39,959 – £48,117 per annum pro rata
Contract type: Fixed term (11 months)
Working pattern: Part‑time
