School Staff Nurses work as part of a team led by our Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHNs) to deliver interventions that improve the health and wellbeing of children, young people, and their families. Responsibilities include:
* Helping parents develop and sustain strong bonds with children
* Encouraging care that keeps children healthy and safe
* Reducing childhood obesity through promoting healthy eating and physical activity
* Identifying health issues early for timely support
* Preparing children for and supporting them in education settings
* Identifying and assisting children, young people, and families facing problems that could affect their future
This role works within a school-aged service and involves regulated activity with children aged 4-19, including support for vulnerable families.
