Care Worker (Adult Social Care, Learning Disabilities)
Location: The Tynedale Centre, Hexham (Day centre)
Permanent | 35 hours | £13.69 - £14.59 per hour
Overview
Are you a creative, enthusiastic, caring individual, ready to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives? If so, we’d love to welcome you to the team at Tynedale Centre in Hexham. We are looking for a dedicated Care Worker committed to helping maintain a quality service. Our team supports adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, empowering vulnerable adults by building independence through engaging educational, social, therapeutic and employment opportunities.
The centre is open Monday‑Friday, 9am‑4pm.
What you’ll do
You’ll work in a vibrant, supportive environment where no two days are the same. As a Care Worker you will help our service users enjoy a variety of activities including:
* Swimming
* Horse‑Riding
* Bowling
* Music therapy
* Gardening
* Sensory walks
Whether it’s exploring the outdoors or sharing a laugh during an activity, you’ll be part of moments that matter.
Key Responsibilities
* Support service users with physical, personal, and emotional care, enabling and promoting independence so they can reach their full potential.
* Prepare and serve meals/drinks.
* Administer medication (appropriate training will be provided).
* Support service users in accessing the community and arranging fun activities for them to engage with.
* Communicate with service users and colleagues; produce report writing and share information.
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure individual care plans are achieved/reviewed.
* Attend training, take part in appraisals, supervisions, and team meetings.
