A Day in the Life of an Infrastructure Security Service Technician
You will maintain project-specified systems including computers, data networks, digital video cameras and recorders, power supplies, fiber optics, and other cabling within a specific geographic region in the US. Responsibilities include installing, updating, and maintaining hardware and software, managing asset accountability, and maintaining records. You will troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues using diagnostic tools, calibrate or adjust electronic equipment to specifications, and work independently.
You will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining tools, test equipment, and vehicles, completing logbooks, timesheets, expense vouchers, and preparing verbal and written status reports. Continuous training and skill development are expected to keep your technical skills sharp.
Required Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED; Associate's Degree in Information Technology or a related field from an accredited institution preferred.
* Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunication systems.
* Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware/software, including applications and programming.
* Knowledge of machines and tools, their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
* Familiarity with data networks, digital video equipment, fiber optics, security surveillance, and basic electronics.
* Ability to obtain and maintain necessary government security clearances.
* Valid driver's license and ability to meet safe driving requirements.
* Ability to secure a US Passport and/or Passport Card as required.
* Willingness and ability to travel approximately 75% of the time to remote US locations.
