<div><h3>Job Summary</h3><p>We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Stroke and Neurological Rehabilitation team at Solihull Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to develop specialist skills within stroke and neurology across stroke ESD and neuro outpatient rehabilitation.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><p>The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team providing high‑quality, patient‑centred assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for patients with complex neurological conditions including stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinsons disease, spinal cord injury, and other neurological presentations.</p><ul><li>Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention for patients with stroke and neurological conditions.</li><li>Assess functional, cognitive, perceptual, sensory, and upper limb impairments.</li><li>Develop patient‑centred rehabilitation goals and treatment plans.</li><li>Complete discharge planning, home assessments, and equipment recommendations.</li><li>Work collaboratively within the MDT including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, nursing staff, consultants, and social services.</li><li>Support junior staff, assistants, and students through supervision and teaching.</li><li>Participate in service development, audits, and evidence‑based practice initiatives.</li><li>Contribute to weekend and 7‑day service working where applicable.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><b>Essential</b></p><ul><li>Diploma / degree in occupational therapy.</li><li>Current registration with Health Professions Council.</li><li>A levels or equivalent qualification.</li><li>Good standard of general education including GCSE maths and English grade C and above.</li><li>Evidence of CPD including recent post‑graduate training relevant to clinical speciality.</li></ul><p><b>Desirable</b></p><ul><li>Evidence of leadership training.</li><li>Attendance at Clinical Educators Course.</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><p><b>Essential</b></p><ul><li>Demonstrates comprehensive clinical experience enabling the post holder to manage a caseload of patients with complex needs in this speciality.</li><li>Demonstrates acute clinical experience enabling the post holder to manage a caseload of patients with complex needs in this speciality.
