Job Purpose
1. To lead on the delivery of Healthwatch Sunderland volunteer strategy.
2. To coordinate and facilitate volunteer engagement activities within Sunderland.
3. To manage the Youthwatch project.
4. To lead on the recruitment, training, and induction of volunteers.
5. To plan, coordinate, and facilitate Enter and View activities.
Job Description
1. Work in partnership with local health and social care providers to gather and share information to improve services.
2. Represent HWS at volunteer engagement events to promote awareness.
3. Recruit, select, train, support, and coordinate volunteers supporting HWS.
4. Analyze engagement findings and produce reports for various audiences.
5. Develop and deliver training to staff and volunteers to enhance their skills.
6. Support the development and implementation of the HWS annual workplan.
7. Maintain effective relationships within the health and social care sector.
8. Develop new volunteering opportunities with clear roles and descriptions.
9. Coordinate work experience opportunities supporting HWS.
10. Ensure a volunteer development program is in place to support volunteers’ growth.
11. Promote volunteering activities to diverse communities, including young people, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities.
12. Support volunteers through supervision and regular meetings.
13. Stay informed about policies and legislation affecting volunteering to ensure compliance.
