After School Club Play Leader
Fixed Term contract 1 year (but could be extended)
Hours: 2.25 hours per week term-time only (currently Friday) – 3.15-5.30pm plus additional time for completing training.
Contract: Fixed term, required from 7 November 2025 until 31 August 2026.
Salary: JG4 SCP7-11 (FTE: £25,584 - £27,269 Actual Salary £1,402 - £1,485)
We have a vacancy to lead the After School Cub at Wrington C of E Primary on Fridays during term time, working with a play worker. The After School Play club (also known as ‘PAWS’ – Play After Wrington School) is based in the school hall with access to the delightful school grounds, and provides a happy environment for social and personal development through play after school for children 4-11. It is part of our varied wrap-around provision.
Wrington is a delightful one form entry rural primary school in a conservation area, at the foot of the Mendips.
Prior experience of working in wrap around care would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will:
1. Have experience of working with primary age children (educational or pastoral), preferably in a leadership role
2. Have a strong commitment to the social development of children, creating a safe and happy environment which provides opportunity for relaxation and/or activity
3. Be willing to plan a range of activities to engage children of multiple years
4. Be flexible, creative and have a nurturing nature
5. Have strong interpersonal skills, be a positive and enthusiastic team player, working with staff, parents and children
6. Be well organised and reliable
7. Have positive behaviour management skills
8. Understand the principles of child protection and safeguarding
9. Be supportive of the ethos of our church school
