Overview
A Personal Assistant (PA) is required to support an 11 year old boy in the HU5 area of Hull. The PA will assist his mother with the daily care of the boy and follow her guidance on all activities.
Responsibilities
* Provide support for daily activities including outdoor trips, swimming, and visiting parks.
* Assist with long and local bus rides and ensure the boy sits upstairs whenever possible.
* Help the boy go to the toilet approximately every two hours, following his mother's instructions.
* Stay indoors during cold weather and facilitate everyday therapy activities while the boy is at home.
* Offer emotional support, such as a tight hug, when the boy is overwhelmed or upset.
* Support the boy in a wheelchair when outside the home.
* Be patient and understanding of the boy’s needs; training or experience in supporting young people with Autism is highly desirable.
* Maintain a calm, supportive environment for a non‑verbal child who can follow simple instructions.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience working with young people with Autism or related conditions (beneficial).
* Comfortable with non‑verbal communication and simple instruction.
* Legal driving licence and access to a personal vehicle; car driver preferred.
* Willingness to undergo a DBS check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.

Location: HU5 • Rate of pay: £12.21 per hour • Hours: 6 hours per week in term time, 12 hours per week during school holidays (days to be negotiated). Vacancies: 1 • Reference: REF CX605
