Project Engineer - Newport - 40k - 45k DOE plus excellent benefits
This company, a growing and innovative electronics manufacturer specializing in advanced electronic solutions, requires a Project Engineer to be based at their prestigious site in Newport. The Project Engineer will play a key role in managing engineering changes within the team and coordinating the engineering aspects of customer NPI projects.
Location: Newport
Salary: 40k - 45k DOE plus excellent benefits

Project Engineer responsibilities:
1. Lead engineering projects for customers, ensuring project plans are in place, procedures are followed, and first-offs are managed and signed off.
2. Attend customer meetings as required and coordinate with the wider engineering team to ensure excellent customer experience.
3. Take the technical lead at the project front end, ensuring requirements are captured and detailed before customer NPI/build.
4. Identify opportunities for LEAN processes and commercial interaction to improve margins, including risk identification and cost capturing for bids (e.g., tooling).
5. Report progress and escalations within Engineering, and manage engineering changes effectively.
6. Verify product design or blueprint before manufacturing and inspect the product after manufacturing completion.
7. Quote overheads and expenses in documented format.
8. Provide feedback and recommendations to R&D for product development.
9. Complete Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).

4. Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer use.
5. Has coordination skills to align efforts across technical departments.
6. Possesses strong organizational skills.
7. Has proven experience in a Project Engineering role, preferably in the Electronics industry, but this is not essential.
