Key responsibilities
- Integrate and support third‑party vendor backup and data protection solutions
- Develop in‑house applications and tooling (testing, capacity management, automation)
- Collaborate with global teams to capture requirements and deliver solutions
- Advise and communicate technical approaches to stakeholders of differing technical backgrounds
- Troubleshoot issues alongside operations and engineering colleagues
- Contribute actively to team meetings and a continuous‑improvement culture
Required skills & experience
- Strong understanding of on‑premise infrastructure: storage, networking and operating systems
- Experience with backup and data protection platforms
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills; able to make sound, timely decisions
- Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a global, team‑oriented environment
Desirable (nice to have)
- Proficiency in, or eagerness to learn, a high‑level programming language
- Systems administration experience (UNIX and/or Windows Server)
- Experience with storage technologies (SAN, NAS, S3/object storage)
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or OpenShift
- Cloud computing experience
- Project delivery experience
- Exposure to software vulnerability detection, security hardening or penetration testing
Salary & benefits
- Salary up to £65,000 per annum
